About Us
CONCLUDING THAT YOUR KITCHEN OR VANITY COUNTERTOP NEEDS REPLACING WAS PROBABLY PRETTY EASY. DECIDING WHAT MAY BE YOUR BEST OPTION FOR A REPLACEMENT MAY NOT BE AS EASY.

Performance Countertops, LLC was formed to provide to consumers (homeowners, contractors, and developers) a high level of expertise and professionalism in one specific area of a kitchen or bath remodel, or construction project; the fabrication and installation of new countertops. We're not going to design your new cabinet layout, or make recommendations on appliances. We will guide you through the process of selecting the most appropriate surfacing material for your project and your budget. Many years of experience in designing kitchens & baths, and working with homeowners and builders in all phases of these projects, is the foundation of Performance Countertops.

When you visit Performance Countertops, your countertop needs will be met with a high level of enthusiasm, because that's all we do. You will learn about any and all options that you care to. All relevant considerations will be described. Multiple materials can be quoted for you to be sure that your budget is properly considered. A no-charge measuring visit to your home will be scheduled to ensure the proper countertop sizing and to evaluate the space for any possible delivery or installation issues.

My Beliefs
Office Desk
I take pride in my work and my work ethic. To that end, here is how I view my business and how I can help you get the best product for your project.
  • I am not the granite guy.
    Showroom 2
There are plenty of places that do granite only. Some also do a brand or two of quartz. I have experience and offer the greatest selection of options possible. Granite guys have nothing good to say about Corian® or laminate. Corian® guys have nothing good to say about Granite, Quartz, or laminate. I cover all of the bases and can very objectively inform and advise customers. Something for all interests, needs, budgets.
  • I don't do cabinets, and I am not a lumberyard. I work within the countertop niche exclusively, so I am very focused and not distracted by customers needing lumber, flooring, extensive design work, etc...
  • These are not just countertops but are actually surfaces. Can make furniture tops. Student work stations. Shelves, fireplace parts, outdoor cooking and patio surfaces, etc. If something needs a surface, it can be made from something I display
  • I have relationships with many local contractors, builders, remodelers, handymen, installers, plumbers, electricians, etc and can be a tremendous resource in getting customers connected with the right people regardless of the scope and complexity of their project
  • I am not a 'Box Store'.
    skyline mall
My focus is on service. I visit homes, never with any costs or obligations. I measure, I advise, I quote many options. I follow-up and am personally involved from start to finish. Unlike the 'Box Stores' I don't sell and then dump the job off on the "low-bid" contractor, fabricator, installer, etc
  • Because I am not a full kitchen and bath design/remodel company, or a general contractor, I am not going to try to sell people stuff they don't want. If you want a countertop, then I am prepared to sell you a countertop. I'm not going to try to build it up to a huge expensive project
  • I have lots of samples and encourage people to borrow them so materials and colors can be evaluated in the home, where they make the biggest and most relevant impact.
  • I really want to emphasize EASY AND QUICK. The countertop is the most visually demanding part of a kitchen. A new countertop, all by itself, can dramatically impact the look of the entire kitchen, all without getting involved in a huge and expensive project. For those that just want to change their countertops, it can be done with really no significant disruption to their homes at all. Wake up in the morning with running water in kitchen sink. With a bit of planning, prepare dinner that same evening with running water in a new sink in a new countertop. No disruption at all
Showroom
showroom 1
Our showroom is intended to:
  • Demonstrate as great a variety as possible of various surfacing materials.
  • Include materials at all price points. There is something for everyone.
  • Incorporate into displays a variety of today's most popular cabinet wood species and finishes to assist in matching up with what you have at home.
  • Educate consumers as to a variety of surfacing applications other than just kitchen and bath countertops.
  • Educate consumers as to the relative ease of a countertop replacement, especially when compared to the cost and disruption of a major kitchen remodel.
  • Make available for purchase recommended care and cleaning products.
  • Make available for purchase a large selection of decorative hardware.

There are places you could visit that deal in 1 or 2 surfacing options. Those establishments may lack objectivity, clearly showing a preference for the limited materials they sell. They will also be limited in their ability to provide a variety of price points to satisfy a range of customer budgets. Performance Countertops covers all of the bases and budget levels. On display, you will find:

  • Multiple laminate brands and finishing details.
  • Multiple brands of solid surface materials. Not just Corian.
  • A variety of natural granite stones and tiles.
  • Several choices for engineered stone or quartz surfaces.
  • A selection of products to clean and care for your new countertop.
  • A variety of decorative hardware to further enhance the look created by your new countertop.
Hours
Showroom hours:
  • Monday thru Thursday 9:30 am to 6:00pm
  • Friday 9:30 am to 5:00pm
  • Saturday hours are usually 10-2pm
Other times may be available by appointment.

Our work involves visits to customer homes and jobsites which occasionally leaves our showroom unattended. An advanced phone call is recommended to ensure someone is in the showroom.

Performance Countertops, LLC Comes to Merrimack

Performance Countertops' new showroom, at the Skyline Mall 380 Daniel Webster Hwy., is now open. Owned and operated by Merrimack resident Philip DeGregorio, Performance Countertops caters to homeowners and the general public, as well as to builders and remodeling contractors.

Having spent the past several years designing and organizing complete kitchen & bath remodel projects for a Mass. firm, Mr. DeGregorio brings much experience and skill to his new business. "The kitchen & bath industry has enjoyed unprecedented growth in recent years", says DeGregorio. "The good news is that builders and homeowners now have the greatest selection of materials to choose from when undertaking a new construction or remodel project. The down side," according to DeGregorio, "is that, in many cases, consumers are getting watered down information. New materials, options, colors, features, etc are entering the marketplace at such a pace that the typical "one stop shop" kitchen dealer can't keep up with it all." DeGregorio advises, "The best level of service and expertise will come from retailers that specialize, and this will only continue."

DeGregorio also cites the trend of increased homeowner involvement in the selection of materials to be used in their home projects. "Like never before, manufacturers are emphasizing brand name recognition, and are reaching out directly to the consumer via the internet, cable TV (HGTV, Food Network, Discovery and Travel Channels, etc), and consumer read magazines." "Consumers are taking advantage of these convenient resources to research and educate themselves as to their options," says DeGregorio. "People come into the showroom often times already knowing exactly what they want, and you'd better have it, or be able to get it, or the customer will keep looking. Having strong relationships with multiple fabricators and suppliers allows me access to a tremendous variety of materials. It also allows me to price shop. Bottom line," says DeGregorio "I'll get what the customer wants, and at the lowest cost available."

Performance Countertops has options for all needs and budgets. A visit to the showroom will allow customers to see countertop surfaces ranging from basic laminates to higher end materials such as Corian, Granite, Quartz surfacing, metals, woods, cultured marble, Swanstone, and anything new that comes along. An extensive line of decorative hardware, and quality countertop care & cleaning products rounds out the offerings at Performance Countertops.

DeGregorio reminds, "These countertop materials are suitable for a variety of other uses. Any surface material can be custom fabricated for your new table top, desk, mantel, hearth, bar top, etc. It just requires a little imagination."
