"Countertops" encompasses all sorts of "surfaces" and can extend well beyond just kitchen counters and vanity tops. We design and provide customized materials for desk tops, work stations, entertainment & home theatre surfaces, for all types of "other room furnishings". We have a wealth of experience and an open mind to help with your surfacing requirements regardless of their simplicity or complexity.

Performance Countertops will provide home or job site visits to measure and advise, with a follow-up estimate or detailed proposal, never with any cost or obligation.

Our suppliers are listening to their customers and are providing more and more "Green" products for you to choose from.

Part of the motivation is that many government projects (direct or subsidized) will require that "green" or recycled materials be involved, so manufacturers are making them available so they can at least participate in the bidding for some of these projects.

Those products include, but are not limited to:

• IceStone® is made from Cement with 100% recycled glass.
• DuPont™ Zodiaq® Quartz includes colors in their "Terra Collection" that include at least 25% post consumer recycled content.
• CaesarStone® Quartz has several colors that include recycled content.
• Concetto From Caesarstone features colors made from 75% recycled content.

Stone surfaces include natural materials such as granite, marble, and soapstone. 3 cm thick slabs are cut from blocks quarried from the earth and then cut and polished to fit your application. Engineered Stone means or alludes to a manufactured material and commonly refers to the Quartz products. More details are provided under the Stone Surfaces link to the left.

Acrylic or Solid Surface products are manufactured and composed of materals which usually leave little or no visble seam when installed. This leaves a very smooth and clean looking surface. The Acrylic Surfaces link on the left provides more details on the various Acrylic products.

Plastic Laminates are often simply referred to as "Formica®". Formica® is actually one of several brands or manufacturers of laminate. Other popular brands include Wilsonart® and Pionite, amongst others. Laminates have improved tremendously in recent years with new colors, patterns, finishes, and textures. They are far from the laminate of the 1970's.

Cultured Marble is used exclusively for vanity tops. It is a molded material featuring an integral bowl and back splash, and typically has a polished finish.
